How is stained glass made?
You can check out out my process by clicking here.
Do you do custom pieces?
I do custom suncatchers, panels and windows for home installations. Please check out my Portfolio page for more info.
Do you have gift cards?
I’m sorry, I don’t offer gift cards at this time.
Can you giftwrap my order?
I wrap all my pieces like a present and they arrive nicely packaged and are easy to give as it is right out of the box.
Does my piece contain lead? How dangerous is the lead content used to make my piece?
Yes, stained glass is made with materials that contain lead. There is minimal risk when handling stained glass, it’s only harmful if ingested so don’t eat it! It’s always a good idea to wash your hands after handling as a precaution and keep your piece away from children.
Can I customize the colors on your designs?
I am open to discuss customizing colors for you although, I’m picky about my color palettes so all requests may not be taken. I do charge a custom fee for changing color palettes on my designs, as it does require extra time to design a new color palette and may require shopping for glass that isn’t on hand in my studio.
How should I hang stained glass?
I DO NOT recommend hanging your piece with those suction cups. These are not reliable and fail OFTEN. I recommend hanging your pieces by using a nail at the top of your window sill or cup hooks so it can properly hold the weight of your piece.
How long does it take you to make a piece?
This really depends on how complicated the piece is. Suncatchers can take anywhere from an hour to 3 hours from start to finish. Bigger panels usually take 2-3 days after the design is completed.
Do you do stained glass repairs?
If a piece you purchased from me is damaged, please contact me and we can discuss getting that repaired for you.
As far as other damaged stained glass pieces like those that you have had for years or pieces you found at a flea market, I may be able to take them and repair it if I have time in my schedule. Please email me.
How long have you been doing stained glass?
I did my first stained glass piece in 2014. From there I enrolled in classes at my local shop and took them until I felt like I was comfortable with the process to practice on my own. I practiced on my own for about a year before I felt confident in my work to create pieces for others to sell.
Do you have any advice for someone wanting to learn stained glass?
The best way to learn stained glass is to learn it in person with an experienced teacher. I recommend finding a class if you can! There are so many tips and tricks you can learn in a class that you will never find out otherwise. If you can’t, find an online workshop, watch lots of YouTube videos and practice, practice, practice. The other key is to have a lot of patience while you learn and perfect the craft.
